Fable For A Snowy Day Poem by R B Seals

Fable For A Snowy Day

If this winter's day was
As warm as your heart,
Gloves, hat, scarf ‘n
Coat I wouldn't need;
I'd venture out in spring
Attire and go to retail mart
Hooked by sales, promos,
And tiny bit of greed.

But snow is falling, and
Needed is reason to start:
Simple matter of motive ‘n
Will to justify the deed;
But perhaps wiser to stay
At home and play it smart,
Having tea ‘n biscuits
And good book to read.

A volume most soothing
Like photo study of art.
A quiet, passive pursuit
I willingly concede;
A program less stressful
Than using card ‘n cart,
Keeping nerves at calm
And life at healthy speed.
