Facebook Drama Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Facebook Drama

When an attack of crassness swirls and foams
The sudden urge to defend rises to the surface
With intensity… pounding words spew relentlessly
crashing against the shallow stones of cyberspace

Racing fingers tap against the keyboard with force
In a closed room… a flustered mind releases tension
blasting unwelcome statements as though to extinguish...
Venomous words… that cause a recoil when mentioned

The loose and careless heaving of words… surge
beyond the intended recipient… a salty sea of scrutiny
becomes an open forum for critics that seize and hurl
retaliation aggressively… agitating the waves of brutality

Apologies are meaningless because the message sent
was meant… compulsively relaying explosive raw emotion
Unless revengeful scorn is what is wanted…cap the anger
Vent responsibly and privately… avoid a massive explosion
