I open my weary eyes, staring into the darkness
Enveloping me like a blanket, wrapped tightly
In, out, in, out, my breath echoes in the air
This frightening silence is too much for me to bear
I am still cold
The clock flickers in the distance, the only light I can see
Tick, tock, tick, tock, it grins as it taunts me
The blinds shake, the heavy wind attacking them once more
Coldness continues to wash over me, too strong to ignore
My head spins
I become dizzy as my mind attempts to drown me
Thoughts whirl around
I try to break free, yet they still surround me
In the deep end now
Can anyone save me?
Or will I be left to trip and fall
While you watch me silently
Where do I go?
Darkness continues to blind me
I'm losing myself
Not even I can find me
Tick tock, tick tock
Darkness tightens its grip
With each passing moment
I'm about to trip
I look around, not knowing what I'm looking for
The clock slows, powering down, before it flashes its light once more
My mind pulls me in, my thoughts now coat the air
Weighing me down, filled with dread and despair
Tick tock, tick tock
Darkness tightens its grip
Eyes shut
Fade to black
Into this suffocating blanket I slip
