Fading Cherishment
What happened to
The kiss of morning?
What happened to
The call at noon?
What happened to
Your squeeze behind me
Or the clasp of
Cherished palms?
What happened to
The Honey Hug Me
For reasons that
No one shall know?
What happened to
The nighttime cuddle
Or the search for
Depths to sow?
It happens that
The life we choose
As we near our
End of days
Will cut us off
From those who love us
Sentencing me to
Love that fades.
