Fair Weather Friends Poem by CHIGOZIE DANGOL

Fair Weather Friends

I stand alone, reminicing the past
Think out loud, how did I get here!
Strange as it may seem, I find myself
On the brink of extinction!

Used and abused, abandoned for the gutters!
Fair weather friends! Tis all I got to show!
When the going was good! They flocked round me!
Each one always had a need I would gladly meet!

Now the chips are down and the tables are turned!
Suddenly I am down to the floor!
No one cares! Aye.. They gladly step on me
As though I am the ground!

Fair weather friends!
The lessons I have learnt!
The mistakes I have made!
Its made me stronger!

All I've got is me, myself and I!
Dont care what you think!
Maybe call me selfish!
But I wont hurt again from friends like you!

Cause to me.. You are just a fair weather friend.
