The average little girl dreams
of her one true love.
Her Prince Charming riding in
on that incredibly white horse
to save her from all the woes
the world has cast down upon her.
I once was that little girl, too.
Though I never really quit believing
fairytales could be real.
I never believed my prince would
come riding in on a horse or
that he would rescue me from
a world I had created for myself.
But I did believe he was out there
somewhere... believing in me.
The prince of my dreams
is merely a man.
A man capable of allowing me
to just be me,
but also encouraging me
to become more.
More than just that little girl
stuck in the fantasy of her dreams.
My prince gives me strength
and confidence thus freeing
me from the cell of my choices.
Allowing me to breathe fresh air
and truly see all the colors in
this wonderful world become as
brilliant as they were meant to be.
My heart holds a special place
for the prince I swear has
once before been a reality.
Nothing and no one else
can find a way to scale the wall
and reach the fountain of my love
the way my prince can with
only a single glance.
Unlike the stories,
this princess must travel
down the path of her own
to escape any evil...
sadness and pain.
But I know he will be there
when I do...
