Fairytale's Read Aloud Poem by Rachel Henley

Fairytale's Read Aloud

Rating: 1.3

People change, So do seasons, years and time.
Then how come, I only think of you, as mine.
Once apon a lover ago, You were happy as just that.
Mistakes were made, Lies were laid,
prices were eventually paid.
There is no value to your heart,
Yet somehow, I traded it, for far less.
This regret on my tounge,
This hurt in my lungs,
This weight on my chest.
Memories of you, Sweep through mountains,
Colliding like lightning on strong earth,
You are not a photograph, or words on a page.
But everything beautiful, thats not man made.
My body is lonely, my mind is distant.

Never knowing the ending, to our broken fairytale.
It kills me, Who wakes you up from your sleep?
I will bury my heart in the sand, In hopes that-
on your honeymoon, You just think of me and you.
You will look out onto the ocean,
Question where I am, Measuring the miles,
with every aching heartbeat that follows.
We were once, beautiful music.
But every great orchestra,
melody and harmony, must end.
Yet still, the emotion you feel from the sound,
Is as ever lasting as fairytale's read aloud.
