Fake Jewels - A Story For Dillip Swain, Gajanan Mishra, Edward Kofi, Bernard Asuncion Poem by Jacson Gelato

Fake Jewels - A Story For Dillip Swain, Gajanan Mishra, Edward Kofi, Bernard Asuncion

There lived once a little boy who had many jewels
which he had gathered as a hobby while he was growing
and which he kept polished by his own whims and efforts.
When this little boy grew up into a man he decided
to exhibit his jewels at the Town Hall Building.

The entire village and people from the neighboring cities
flocked to see the jewels on display as they were so amazed
that the jewels he had collected as a child were so genuine,
they named him the "Jewel Man" and they were so proud of him
and it made him feel so special for the admiration he had gained.

So one day the "Jewel Man" decided to buy
a lot of fake jewels and conduct another Exhibition
to show off to his friends more of his greatness.
But when many people came to see the display this time,
they were surprised that the jewels were not real.

Also the other jewelers and rich class people
could distinguish the new jewels on display were fake
though the new fake jewels shone more brightly
than the genuine jewels they had seen
in his previous Exhibition at the old Town Hall Building.

All the people got together outside the Exhibition Hall
and started gossiping about the character change
of the "Jewel Man" and the way he had resorted to falsity.
They called him a dishonest man and moved away from him.

He could never win back their trust nor friendship
neither could he win their admiration ever again.
Neither could he participate in any social gatherings
or get back on that platform of trust and dignity he had lost
as he had involved himself in hoodwinking people and deceiving them.
