Extortion Poem by Jacson Gelato

Extortion

Rating: 4.0

Many minds
many thoughts
many hands
few opportunities
in the game of gains;
even a child
an extortionist,
even an old man
an extortionist,
even a mad man
an extortionist,
child extorts
love of his parents,
old man extorts
care from his children,
mad man extorts
attention from any one close to him,
but the true extortionist is the one
who places bargain on a bargain
he asks for more than what he is worth,
he demands, he commands and extorts
making others surrender to his wishes;
some times losing track
he falls in the net of law
and just like the rose
that never loses it fragrance
an extortionist never
withdraws from playing his game

I thank you for your positive feedback Nice of you to suggest a more apt ending to the poem. But, I don't expect to dictate your poetic works with my poetic attitude and I certainly don't expect you to suggest endings for my works. It is as if a Ph.D student works on his dissertation for a good 3 to 4 years and then has to accept the thesis propounded by another Doctorate holder. I invite criticism, reporting, grammatical correction but not an addition to my poem. I hope you will treat this message with objectivity and not presume a personal reference only to yourself.
