Fakir Goes To Work Poem by Sumita Jetley

Fakir Goes To Work

In the city's heart, where dreams and day collide,
Walks Idris, a Sufi, with the universe as his guide.
'I am glad I have you, ' to the Divine, he confides,
A modern seeker on an ancient ride.

His suit, a testament to the present age,
Embroidered cuffs, a heritage sage.
A neat beard, hair in style's embrace,
A tranquil warrior in the urban race.

Software his craft, yet his soul soars free,
In code, finds patterns of the Divine decree.
Each step a prayer, a meditative stride,
In the digital hum, his peace resides.

A cab ride today, amidst the morning's grace,
The vast ocean's view, a contemplative space.
Laptop opened, but his heart looks beyond,
To the sea's eternal bond.

The ocean, mighty, mirrors the Divine,
In its depths, a humbling sign.
A reminder stark in the worldly fame,
We're but whispers in the Almighty's name.

The Sufi wisdom, ancient and profound,
In Idris's heart, a resonant sound.
Humility, service, the soul's true call,
In the Divine's love, he finds his all.

As the sun's rays his serene face kiss,
Recalling names of Divine bliss.
A silent prayer, his soul's release,
In the Almighty's names, he finds his peace.

Stepping out, the ocean's hymn still near,
Carries with him, the morning's cheer.
A modern Sufi, in a world so wide,
With humility and peace as his guide.
