Fakir In Sama Poem by Sumita Jetley

Fakir In Sama

In the heart of faith, they stand so bright,
Neighbors planning a Sankirtan night.
On a terrace green, plants all around,
Joy and activity truly abound.

Children laughing, running in play,
Women cooking, sharing stories of the day.
Elders with wisdom, tales from the past,
Musicians tuning, melodies that will last.

Heaps of prasadam, colors so grand,
In Sufi attire, they make their stand.
Candles and lanterns, a warm, glowing light,
Chishtiya tradition, love shining bright.

In celebration, their spirits take flight,
Honoring the Sufi, in humble light.
With faith and joy, they humbly pray,
For the beautiful order, every single day.
