Fall Leaf Poem by Rafik Romdhani

Fall Leaf

Rating: 5.0

Oh Man, any Man! you were born to two
That made you one and none like you
You cried, you yawned to beams of life
You crawled, you rolled waywind, waystrife
Waydown much like a Fall Leaf!

Oh, Man, they laughed to tears of envy at you
They wanted that lambish old innocence anew
Like them, you were born to bear hope and be
lost in fog, but struggling stands a clear hue
To school, you snailed with love in a bag adew
Waywind that brings 'n takes Fall Leaf!

Love for ink rocked papers to nest words in you
Oh Man, on their pillow-your chest, they dare
Right there let you decide who you are!
As they slumber, you remember that cry
Of being hurled to life's tide, no womb, no buoy
Either drown or stay afloat like a Fall Leaf!

Oh, Man birds swim, know life more than you
Your beard and whiskers are good but for eyes
Their flight, their feathers scrape angels' skies
Your ships, your planes, your deeds of wars
Match not a soul's breath that broke all doors
Refusing to fall down a Fall Leaf!

Oh Man, any Man! you were born to two
That made you one and none like you
You crawled, you walked waylight, waylies
You gossiped, you lied, you sneaked waydevils
You built 'n ruined, you dried 'n died waygrave
Waydown, wayfeet, you tumbled a Fall Leaf!
