Falling In Reverse Poem by Briana Benner

Falling In Reverse

Rating: 4.5

Fall in reverse, my tired soul;
Give me your hand and let me wake you,
With your gentle smile and screaming eyes.

Let me know you;
Help me show you the sun,
With its bright, loving fingers and soft kisses.

Show me your pain;
Let me soothe your scars away
And heal your shattered heart.

Sing me your song;
With your weary heart
And shaking mouth.

Give me your time;
And I shall give you my hand,
With soft strokes and sweet reassurances.

Fall in reverse, my tired soul;
Close your eyes and fall forward,
Back into that serenity;
Back into that smile;
Back into those fields of sweet and gentle wonder.
fall in reverse, my tired soul;
And let me be there to catch you.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this for a friend of mine who was struggling with depression. It was a reminder to her- and to myself, as well, since I have had my own struggles with that darkness- that even when you feel alone, there is always someone out there willing to lend a hand and help you through even your worst times.

What a sweet poem about reassuring someone with a shattered heart. We could all use a friend like that!

This is the best poem of yours I have read so far :) a hand is what many need to get back up, but sometimes they need to learn to rise by themselves. but still, awesome write: D -W
