Falling Leaves Poem by joanna luffnagel

Falling Leaves

I thought you were different
you turned out to be just the same

you call me with sweet names
but you call them in a sweeter way

am I just another leaf in your big tree
and I shall wait until fall for you to set me free

I thought I can control everything
but my feelings proved me wrong
oh you're the only person I wish
I have never known for this long

I never regret anything but you made me
theres no one like you baby
you dont hurt you kill
when I thought all men do but you never will

now where do I stand in the tree
front, back but back is so much colder
or should we wait until you come
and arrange us in your order

but what are you doing?
are you enjoying the view?
but i'll keep on climbing
until im on top of you

you'll get down, you'll lose
i'll win, now you chose

you still want that tree up?
or you want me to cut it down?
believe me i'll bring the saw
for the tree and your crown

by the authority that was given to me by the leaves
you're no longer the king, but we're still the queens
