An alliance formed in the dark
Cannot last through the night
A conspiracy against the truth
Will have no binding provision
For it cannot withstand a testing

Neither honor amongst thieves
Nor solidarity among the guilty
Since their oath is not binding
As they turn against one another
Anything to save their own skin

No sacrifice offered for another
Each to his defense alone stands
Each to his justification declares
Each to his fortification mounts
But the guilt they all must share
