False Fantasies Poem by Hopeless Heart

Safe in your arms
That’s where I want to be,
I’m trapped and enclosed
But yet feel so free

You’re with another
One of which I can’t compete,
You’re always with another
It’s just something I’ll never beat.

Standing there in all your beauty
From across the room you meet my eyes,
I lose myself in their depths
Just to realise, my fantasies are all lies.

I don’t know how you do it
Break my heart and still tell me you love me,
You know that I can’t stop loving you
But yet sometimes I wish you’d just let me be.

You play with my heart like it’s nothing,
Don’t you have any respect for me?
Did you ever actually mean it, when you said you loved me?
I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to see.

I’m leaving you and this place forever,
I’m not going to say goodbye
Because you don’t deserve my tears,
You don’t even deserve to know why.

I hope you have a happy life with her,
No actually, I hope she leaves you for another guy.
I hope your heart breaks into a million pieces,
And I hope you’re alone when you die.
