False Image Poem by Hannah Anderson

False Image

Smiling while I lie
Acting like I'm fine
looking like a saint
never crossing the line

You see what you want
not the real me
the macachist and cutter
razor letting me free

sleeves hide me from you
your helping hand
now I'm burning in a hell
that your words have fanned

so now I'm acting happy
but it's all for show
laughing for my friends
hoping they won't know

you see the angel
not the devil inside
cuz if you ever knew
then you'd know that I lied.
