Old Habits Poem by Hannah Anderson

Old Habits

Old habits here to stay
Lost in yet another day
Watching as my trouble leaves
Hidden behind blood-stained sleeves

Now again I’m at this point
The point where my life ends
I hope you can forgive me now
On this it all depends

All these things I’ve done before
Yet I’m scared to do
This is how my life has been
This path it is not new

Old habits here to stay
Lost in yet another day
Watching as my trouble leaves
Hidden behind blood-stained sleeves

Walking down this age old road
Paved with misery
Once again I’ve lost my nerve
This street is killing me

Wandering ‘till I’m lost
On this endless road
Carrying my tragedy
Such a heavy load

Once again I turn to you
A habit that won’t die
Cutting through everything
All I want to hide
