Breaking Her Heart Poem by Hannah Anderson

Breaking Her Heart

Rating: 5.0

She lay awake that night
Wondering if he had heard
How her heart had broke
But she didn’t say a word

She didn’t want to love him
And he didn’t notice her
He loved her best friend
That’s just the way things were

So she kept silent
As he broke her heart
She didn’t let him know
That he was tearing her apart

She feigned anger
To cover the tears
And closed her eyes
To chase away the fears

But the terror will never leave
And she’ll always wonder why
She wasn’t good enough for him
But he wouldn’t let her die
