Dawn crept behind the dawn and burst
into a thousand drops of light;
With child-like joy to be the first
to bid quick farewell to the night.
Then Morning entered, quiet, sedate
Veiled in mists of lavender blue;
A mother bent to help, create
a perfect day for me and you.
Noon came blazing arrayed in gold
to light the shadows mid-day cast;
A father's cheer to warm, enfold
to keep the peace without being asked...
Evening arrived, sweet, calm, serene,
a time to ponder on day's end;
An elder's thoughts on what has been
and how to make a just amend.
If only everyday could be
celebrated as a family...
