What a joy it is to travel
And find the roots of your family
You meet such wonderful people
Beautiful places you’ll get to see
Scotland is truly charming
And a magical place to be
As I hunted for ancestors
It was a thrilling place for me
Cemeteries with family names
Beautiful and ancient they are
I took photos of their beauty
After traveling so very far
The landscapes are different
Than anywhere else I’ve seen
Looking across the land
At the beauty is like a dream
Scouting out many places
Ruins from all around
Sadness follows me
As I discover a broken town
If you have never traveled
And found the roots of your family
Plan to take a trip soon
It’s everything you dream it will be!

Here I am, after a trip 230 miles due North, I sit down to a borrowed computer and I find you already here. Our trip wasn't near near as long as yours, but got the same results. Drove past Redway, where you would turn off to get to the family homestead. (see my 'It May Not Seem Fair') Not sure who lives there now. All family members older than me on my side now reside underground. I thought I was going to have longer to train for my new position as head of the table. Good news is the table is full with new arrivals.
