Fangs And Feathers Poem by Dustin Burel

Fangs And Feathers

I catch myself laughing when I see people try,
To do all their methods to make my touch die,
It’s silly when I see what they all do,
To try and destroy my touch that’s for you,

Few ever listen to what makes their heart well,
Until it’s too late and they find all is to hell,
Listen to your heart and find what is there,
For there was only a vampire who always did care,

He’ll catch you as you fall,
Only to bring you back to flight,
And to hold you for as long,
Until things are made alright,

No one can mimic the things he can do,
For it is only his heart that desires what is true,
No one brings a chill to the spine,
With a touch on the neck and a whisper of “Be mine”,

Never will he lie or ever betray,
For he is always loyal until the last day,
He stands here alone with his head to the ground,
Hoping one day that his angel is found,

With hands held out and arms open wide,
He’ll do what it takes and push all aside,
A vampire’s heart is broken waiting for you,
He stands here waiting knowing what he must do,

“I’ll thank you in the end…”
