Fantasies Shore Poem by Jessica Layman

Fantasies Shore

Sugar plum faeries dance in my head
while a dragon breaths fire
keeping me warm in my bed
in my dreams I fly higher

On the back of the Roc
An eagle like creature
I wish he could talk
Silence in not his best feature

But nymphs are singing
while mermaids play
I hear the sound of ringing
I am not allowed to dream all day

A child I can be no more
No longer can I sit on fantasies shore
