Far Apart - Poem by Crispin Garza

Like Moses when he split
the Red Sea, we draw apart.
We could have been together
any where in the world, but we
aren't. We could be smelling
the roses, instead we are
making war like the Roses.
We could be on the beach
enjoying the sun, instead we
are apart having no fun. We
could be together with love as
strong as Gump and Jenney,
instead we have no love, like
money and broke folks. We
have no love together we lost
each other. We think of things
bad to say to each other. I
shut you out, slam the door.
You still annoy me like a Jahovah's
Witness. But truth be told my love is
endless. I say things terrible, but being
without you is unbearable. Let's be together
, let's be alive with love and laughter and care
and sharing and fall and spring and pain and
luck.

A mixture of contradictions. But isn't that what love is all about? This poem is not sweet and sickly but full of real-life moody passion. Thoroughly enjoyed this one, Crispin.

    Love, Fran xx
