I knew this day would come
where we would say good-bye.
You whisper 'I love you'
I try so hard not to cry.

Promises do not mean a thing.
It will not bring you back here.
At this time of war and hate,
the nightmares that I fear.

My days are spent wondering,
if you are alright.
All the memories we shared,
I hold them very tight.

I knew this day would come
where we would have to part.
You are so far away,
but always in my heart.
