Farewell Poem by James Walter Orr

Farewell

We know that we will never, ever,
ever re-walk those paths again.
The love that binds our souls together
is clouded now by mists of pain.

The world we knew has changed forever,
devoid of tenderness and love.
They live up there where we have placed them,
but we've no strength to reach above.

I have to say farewell and leave you.
I'd rather die than let you go.
The pain is greater than the pleasure;
a truth we both will always know.
