Farewell to yesterday, a sorrowful song,
As I bid adieu to all that has gone,
Memories flood my mind, like a picture book,
Each page tells a story, each glance a look.
Gone are the days of carefree laughter,
Gone are the moments, together we gathered,
The sun has set, on our yesterday,
Leaving behind, a bittersweet display.
Oh how we danced, in fields of green,
Oh how we dreamt, of all we'd seen,
But now the fields lay barren and bare,
And our dreams, shattered beyond repair.
The tears, they fall, like rain from the sky,
For the yesterday, that has now said goodbye,
The faces I'll miss, the voices I'll yearn,
As I watch, my yesterday, forever adjourn.
I'll miss the warmth, of the sun on my skin,
I'll miss the joy, in the simple things,
For yesterday was a treasure, a precious gift,
And now it's gone, my heart feels adrift.
The memories, they'll live on, in my heart,
A flame that will burn, and never depart,
For though yesterday, may have come to an end,
Our time together, will forever transcend.
Farewell to yesterday, my cherished friend,
For the love and the laughter, you always did send,
I'll hold you close, in my thoughts and my prayers,
Until we meet again, in a world without cares.
