Farewelling Poem by Meng Lim Dr

Farewelling

I will leave
you don't have to ask
enough has been said
we both knew the past

with its tentacles
of regret and webs of pain
it will be impossible
for us to try to love again

but who knows the future?
no life is a dead-end
letting each other go
on a better shore we might land-

we should neither
weep nor bitterness keep
the past was but a dream
now let it in gentleness sleep
