I am a farmer
I farm.
Paddy, wheat, cereals
All I produce
With my blood
My sweat.
I have my farm lands,
I am supplying food to all.
I am a farmer
But see
I have no house
Suitable to stay in.
I am not getting
Proper facilities to
Educate my children.
I am a farmer
And see
In my name
They all are playing
Politics, I am
In no way related, though.
I am a farmer
And they all are
Mocking at me.
Only in exam
The student write
I am the backbone
Of the country.
I am a farmer
Once Shastriji
Used to say
Jai jawan jai kisan.
But now
They are telling
Let the farmers die
In highways
And see I am dying.
So sweet!

The world can do without accountants, solicitors and most trades, but nobody can do without a farmer. They are the backbone of every economy. You have a praise worthy profession and poem.5*
