Fate Of The Betrayer Poem by Steffi Webster

Fate Of The Betrayer

Faceless monster look around you
Look without eyes and see the pain forged by your lies.
For eyes are the window to the soul and you have none.
Not gone for you were born without such good.
Only sorrow spawned by your deceit, how
Could you? Should drain the blood from you
But would fall as sour poison on the earth.
The betrayal that whispers like vipers in your veins
Bleeds from your icy skin like the tears you
Would shed if you had the soul to conjure them.
Fall into despair without care as your heart beats
In its blackened rhythm never to be given,
Chained with links of treason lest it break
Free and choke another innocent. Lie spent upon
The dirt you hope for it to hurt, to feel something
In that body shell in which you dwell.
Barbed wire bind you and dig into your skin
Begin again to scream and rattle and taste its
Bitter agony. Rot for eternity you harlot and
Harridan, worthless harpy and dwell in the dark.
The night must claim you and shame you
And seek not the sun! love is the treasure you have
Not won. Despair if you dare and let the raven
Cravenly eat your hope, undeserved of your evil
And live not with glory but gory resistance and
Die in that pain. Again again again.
Long may she reign.
