Fates Entwined- Poem by Nina Ali

Fates Entwined-

Rating: 3.8

She's not here,
Her, with the voice,
Her, with the smile.
She's not here,
And Long before I came to be,
He was gone as well.
Him, with the voice,
Him, with the whim.
They no longer breathe,
Them; with the bliss.
Them; with the sin,
Them with a nemesis in a serpent’s skin.
Them who were made to live forever,
But severed the bonds to their Eden and heaven and
Fell for the forbidden fruit of their disobedience and indescretion.
Their sons and daughters of mortal flesh now speak:
“Now we live, now we breathe.”
“Tomorrow we die, tomorrow we cease.”
“Our spirits move on and our bodies undone.”
“We feed upon a land that feeds on us”
“That’s the price for their sins & whims.”
“But! and it has to be said, for when the Day of Judgment shall come, We need not fault our mother and father for what we have done. For that we have only our actions to condemn.”

An interesting spin on fate as a result of the fall of man, which is affecting mankind.
