For most of my life my father was gone before dawn
And came home in time for dinner to go on
He worked hard to put a roof over our head,
and made sure his family of nine was feed
He taught me how to ride a bike, and drive a tractor
He always loved life; and played it like an actor
And now even though he's gone away,
He's still part of my life everyday
