Father Emu At Tower Hill Poem by Francis Duggan

Father Emu At Tower Hill

Rating: 5.0

If you visit Tower Hill in Spring you may see
Father emu and his young family
By his side slowly walking along
In the emu family love's bond it is strong
Mother emus on ground nest their big dark green eggs lay
Though no other part in parenting they do play
Father he hatches to life and raises the chicks on his own
For any female to help him in any way it is not known
Emu chicks with stripes of brown through the light gray
From their devoted father are never far away
He calls them to him if he senses danger around
Using his guttural throaty warning sound
If you visit Tower Hill in Spring you may see
Proud father emu and his family.
