Faticians Of Rome

Fatiscent (fate not fat) ,
a geological term
meaning gaping with cracks,
comes from the Latin for gaping,
which was so common in ancient colliseums
that spectators were called faticians -
or should have been,
considering the slaughter
and left-overs to be seen.
