Fear Poem by Samantha Stough

Fear

Abyss of fickle fear
Whisper what I want to hear
Wearing such a clever disguise
Delicate disaster behind my eyes
A twist of agony
Trailing behind what was meant to be
Something just doesn’t feel right
There’s emptiness hidden within the light
Dragging me down beneath the sand
Peril holding me in its hand
Underneath this earth I lay
Wasting the endless hours away
Bring me up again only to be swept by the tide
No where left for the treason in my soul to hide
If only hope could stay
I would find a different way
