Fear And Doubt Poem by Pink Pixie

Fear And Doubt

Rating: 0.5

Fear and Doubt (Part One)

Shadows move within the darkness of my fragile mind,
Whispers echoing in the silence, at times seemingly intertwined.

Images blurred by the constant flow of shed tears,
Hope loosing the endless battle against ever growing fears.

The memories fade in and out always just a fleeting view.
Nothing ever seems clear, I'm unsure of what is true.

My world seems so dark, empty and unbearably cold,
Unable to break free from this painful stranglehold.

Looking for an escape, a way out, a reprieve,
Unable to trust, to hope, or believe.

Then I see you there with your sweet and kind smile,
Perhaps I could just stay here with you for awhile.

I reach out my hand and feel it meet yours,
I hear the deafening warnings yet choose to ignore.

You pull me through onto the other side,
Promising to protect me, keep me safe, help me hide.

Your sweet and kind smile soon begins to slowly fade,
I quickly become aware of the grave mistake that I have made.

As I look around I see nothing but a vast empty space,
My heart begins to pound, then to frantically race.

What I thought was safety, protection, and a way out -
Was really a trap into a world of fear and doubt.
