Fear Me Poem by Kat Smith

Fear Me

fear me

fear me like the ground fears separation

tremble for I am coming

fear me

fear me like hearts fear bullets

bleed because I am here

fear me like fear me like fear me

fear me like four AM panic attacks

fear me like almost sleepless nights

fear me like your eyelids fear nightmares

fear me like pulse pound cold sweat

fear me because I am coming

fear me because I am already here

fear me because I am feared

fear me when you hear them singing folk songs about a woman scorned

fear me like the end of the world

fear me like righteous men fear god

revel in my mercy

fear me like lawless men fear law men and law men fear the lawless

fear me because I am horrifying

fear me because you should be afraid

fear me like a godless man fears death

fear me because there is no god

fear me like death

fear me because I have become death

fear me because I am death

with every breath you take fear the blood that pounds through my veins

fear me and the steadiness of my heat beat and the sureness of my footsteps

fear me like modern men fear miracles

fear me when I am loud and when I am silent

fear me as I live and breath

fear me because I am coming

fear me because I am here

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this when I was angry, furious - because in the time I've been away from here I've been betrayed many times
