Fear Of Nothing Poem by Rick Elpers

Fear Of Nothing

Rating: 4.0

Were it that death separated us
is better than to be rejected
To have no recourse and no hope
Without physical possibility
Would be horrendous
But this chosen abstinence
Tears at the heart
Destroys confidence
Renders emotional turmoil
Wrenching the heart dry
Bloodless empty
With the notion of a dalliance
Replaced to be sought
Yet searching for some
Other heart as mine
was of no value
With all that's said
no longer holds truth
Brings listless apathy
To a soul once brought
To life by her open heart
Now closed
