Breaking Invisible Barriers Poem by Rick Elpers

Breaking Invisible Barriers

Rating: 5.0

Life devoid of touch
Clamors for relief
A hug a gentle kiss
The knowing glances
Deep into the soul
Is all I ask
But the walls built
To protect the hidden securities
Evade detection
To protect the fears
Of vulnerable emotions
So I wait and watch
For the signs that emerge
Through the facade
Into my heart
To be devoid of loneliness
Into ones arms

This is a gentle yet deeply moving portrayal of a human condition that affects us all at one time or another. Some more than others. This is beautiful.
