Fear Rules Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Fear Rules

Fear Rules

I have lived long enough
-to compare past and now
-hate, fear, have grown; love-
-shrunk; with belief and trust.

Who recalls after Wars
-First, Second of Worldwide?

With one died Ottomans
-another killed German-Aryans

And result?

For before words said of
- 'The Devil is Islam! '

For second 'Eichmann's
-Bloodshed, Genocides! '

Bullets, bombs, gunpowder
-in trench millions, youngster

The only progress
-oil and arms; to highest

Both devils…
-increased bloodshed
-in with them divisions
-we sunk in shamelessness
-and grew like ivy seed of hate

Theories of fear were needed
-to fill up mosque and church
-where people learned to love

World leaders became new
-the Moscow's-Iron-Fist
-Technical-USA-Marketing

Killed the past guillotine
-among dead, family
People like, the
Joseph McCarthy
And Joseph Stalin
Kept lying, with fear
Mongering…

Both nations
-Americans, Soviets
- (I have lived among both,)
-became the residents of the caves
-Plato's

The shadows were truth
-forced to take the truth as shadow

Kids spent most their time
-in fear of the bomb,
-Soviet's, and of the USA's

Hard it is to go back
-screen my own past
-and people I have met
-jars of love but shattered

They were all thirsty and hungry
-not for food or any liquid,
-teaspoon of loving

Instead
World-around
The devils fed only
The evil of Cold-War

Coups and coups
-once this side
-to remove other side

In between grew lakes
-expanded seas, oceans
-of the young, old blood

Hey Mr. Donald Trump
We've had it; it is enough
