Feel Not Elated Or Defeated Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Feel Not Elated Or Defeated

He doesn't feel elated when his friends or others
praise a thing worthy in his deeds.
When people are journeying to planets,
trekking to the peak, Everest with ease,
Creating Covid, which has conquered the world,
is it right to feel excited for the small feats made?

The prophetic sibyls praise the gods
for the gifts of prophesying given them.
The scientists give credit to their teachers
for the discoveries they make or the laurels they win.
Great sportsmen bow their heads to their teachers!
when they win gold medals or trophies!

The mistakes he commits while teaching, he knows well! .
When praises showered or garlands and shawls worn
he doesn't feel elated or utterly defeated
when laurels denied or honours diverted from him.
When he doesn't celebrate his birthday,
how many international days they impose on people!

The Americans don't give Visa to the professionals
but they come, speak and carry back some tribes
who are experts in catching snakes
and give salaries better than the professionals.
So when you meet with loss or gain in life
don't feel elated or defeated and move on with hope.
