Feel Proud Of Who You Are Poem by Francis Duggan

Feel Proud Of Who You Are

Though some may violate you and sully your name
Tis not you who should be hanging your head in shame
Since you are one not guilty of any crime
Though verbal mud can stick to you for some time,
You may not drive around in an expensive car
But feel proud of yourself and the person you are
Do not play the game of those who try to drag you down
And feel proud of yourself when you walk in the town
And ignore those who of you untrue things do say
As their sort of game is one you ought not play
Though untrue things of you by some have been said
No reason that you in shame should hang your head
Feel proud of who you are you've not harmed anyone
And many the good turn for others you've done.
