Feels Like Lead Poem by Autumn Garrett

Feels Like Lead

Confusion is a mistake I think
Especially while standing on the brink
About to fall
To decide is all
You can't change your mind I said
Cause second thoughts only happen after I'm dead
But I'm not dead
And my legs feel like lead
I can't jump
Even though my life's in the dump
What's there to live for?
There can't be anything more
So what do I have to stay for?
To stay for..?

Count the reasons, and the number would become a galaxy in mere seconds. Count the objections, and you would know the love of the world. Count the diamonds, and still no matter how many you have a single life is worth far more. Count the suicides, you will see humanity's shortcomings, failures, and outright tragedies. Their no honorable justifications. No matter the proclamations. A life wasted, becomes one less life lived. To know when and how you will make a different aren't in the tarot cards you have been dealt but the ones you are yet to receive.
