fein her heart again could dare to love!
to ope the wound that kindly time had tethered
and knitted sore and gaping flesh together
and left but slightest scar, reminder of.
stain would be dissolved that jades the thought
or notion of some reconciliation;
if not that her own soul's affiliation
suffice, and seem a grander treasure brought;
nor any lesser union be approved!
such travesty seemed muted acquiesence
to history - refuting reminiscence
of just how far her mountain had been moved.
