Fellow Traveler Poem by Edmund V. Strolis

Fellow Traveler

Rating: 5.0

This moment I will raise a glass and toast you.
One by one, your special essence brings a smile
I think of all that is best within your being
Smooth out the loose ends and grin wide

This moment I ask that you toast me as well
Raise a glass and say 'here's to you traveler'
Knowing that I too have raised a glass for you
One by one, each toast in dearest recognition

None of us are saints, no we are something better
We are beings, imperfect wonderful humans
This is the lot that we gladly and loudly exalt
Ours is a great tribe, we hold our loyalty sacred

All wonderfully different voices outward and within
Your shining unique gift is your life's brass ring
Your voice completes the chorus of our people
My simple request is over, now I raise my glass

To the warrior within you that moves forward
To the compassionate side, your better angel
To the one that brings hope on the rainiest day
I am proud to ride with you on this human highway

Your verses show that you have worked so much on composing then in rythm, in armony, in ton in vocabulary. It seems that you possess the ars poetica properly well.Proud of you.
