Fentanyl Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Fentanyl

Fentanyl

Fentanyl is on page
-its victims and those dead,
-but hardly anyone looks in depth
-too busy in show off
-cause is lost

-I bought me microscope
-used eyes as telescope
-called the past to today
-Copernicus, Galilea,
-and crossed the oceans

Unlike the Amerigo
-I sat me on canoes
-and followed Odysseus
-flirted with Sirens
-played with god, goddess
-and the wrecks and pirates
-as well as islanders

I spoke with the whales
-saw the game of dolphins
-playing and ending at a beach
- Cetaceans

That is why I know the
-opium to fentanyl
-are used when excessive
-are the pains in one's life
-joy and hope have shrunk
-to minus to freeze
-searching for eternal
-"Let it be end of life…"
-is what comes to person
-in need of some laughter,
-ecstasy in single
-a mantle, dismantle…

Science and politics
-do not see; are missing
-reason, cause, emphasis
-on changes in being
-death is goal for many…
-farmers are "one percent"!
