Fettered Poem by Shruti Goswami

Fettered

Do not fetter me with chains,
For I may sooner die,
The dreams and ecstasies that I feel,
Have feather wings to fly.
Oh! let me be free,
For freedom is the only love,
I know,
The nature in all its glory calls,
So many things to show.
When the rains drizzle,
And the blossoms bloom,
The perfume enchants me,
Beckons me to its embrace,
But the shackles hold me behind.
I know not how the night it fell,
And how the morning fared,
In my dimming consciousness,
Freedom was all I cared.
You need me in your mundane chores,
I am a butterfly,
I paint a rainbow in you mind,
Release, so I may fly.
