From the caress of your hand
still sets warmth upon my skin,
Your warm embrace
sets still my quivering chin.

The attempted words you speak
slowly sets comfort to my worries,
The unconditional love you reap
helps my blistered heart on its journey.

You will never know the extent
of the love I hold for you,
Setting deep in my heart I protect
the love we have when I feel blue.

When this menacing disease takes hold
I become a completely different person,
depressive feelings hit hard and are bold
as I isolate myself and leave you in worry.

I love you to the deepest depths of my heart
and I appreciate you helping me in this struggle,
I have been fighting this depression for years
and I promise not to let it destroy what we have created.
