Fighting The Mirror Poem by Sven Rhoads

Fighting The Mirror

Betrayed my heart and mind
Just to numb the pain
Still there's an axe to grind
But I can't cleanse the stain
What a fool I was to be blind to the mirrors gaze
To take efforts in vain when I clenched the blade

Wasted my time to fight my reflection
So sick from seeing the ugly truth
And now all left in me is shame
Cause I cannot kill this name
Burned myself on my last bridge
Just so I could end this once and for all
But still I found a brand new dawn
With only the scars of it all gone wrong

My own face
A sad disgrace
Tore down my world for a buried dream
Sorrowed eyes
Hopeless fight
Why am I here with out a single purpose

The mirror has been the wake up call
But I tried to fly with burning wings
