Fighting The War Within Poem by rebecca hyer

Fighting The War Within

I hold onto fear
my past has led me here
its filled with pain and misery
my soul cant be free
surrounded by darkness, i hold on to the light
i grasp it with all my might
im afraid one day i wont win
and the blackness will close in
i walk on the line of crazy and sanity
i fear that insane will capture me
there is a war within that i fight
so i can hold onto sanity and light
the brightness i dont want to lose
its the darkness i refuse
somedays i feel weak and somedays i feel strong
this war i fight cause of a past where i was treated wrong
